MOTIVATING FACTOR

No one could easily forget the most tragic incident that sent shock waves throughout the world. Even the Tamils abroad mourned the premature death of Miss. Anitha, hailing from Kulumur, once non-descript and far interior village in the district of Ariyalur-Tamil Nadu. Miss. Anitha, a bright student of Tamil Medium Hr. Sec. School situated at Kulumur, started by the Diocese of Kumbakonam represented by Fr. A. Michaelsamy, unflinchingly intent on becoming a medical professional but unfortunately failed in the NEET exam that was declared a ‘Must’ for aspiring medical profession by the Central Government. The rural students were least qualified for the novel exam, unheard of before and were quite unable to face it all of sudden. Miss. Anitha could hardly bear the flop, quite unprecedented in her academic career; Her noble dream was shattered to smithereens and the failure frustrated here so much that she was attacked by brain-storm and was forced by inner voice to resort to the extreme step of snapping the life-string in the mid of her prime youth.

Irrespective of Caste and Creed, the Diocese, considering her as its own Child, not only mourned the demise of the Girl but took an irreversible decision to start CBSE School in the Diocese and do all it can to arrest the obnoxious trend of terribly shocking deaths. For the self-annihilation of Anitha was followed by some more similar deaths in and outside the State of Tamil Nadu. We do not raise our voices against NEET but we suggest that the steps should have been taken gradually, preparing the students to throw down the gauntlet; and this would have avoided the irremediable loss of precious lives.

THE MOURNFUL EVENT INSPIRED THE DIOCESE OF KUMBAKONAM TO OPEN CBSE SCHOOL WITHOUT BROODING OVER AND THIS SITE WAS CHOSEN TO MATERIALISE ITS ARDENT WISH.

OUR UNFLAGGING MISSION

We are, indubitably, aware that the rural students as against their urban counterparts do not enjoy the same educational facilities to meet the challenge. We need to go extra mile to coach the rural students; because their English knowledge is far from being satisfactory. Besides, there are intellectuals in the rural areas but with little opportunities for developments. Our mission is to discern them and shape them to equate with the urban peers.

In accordance with our motto- To love and To serve - we do not deny admission for the reason of grovelling poverty. We focus on healthy brain and not on wealthy purse. No student should get suppressed and depressed and distressed due to slim or empty purse.

DESCRIPTION AND GEOGRAPHICAL SETTING.

While the Diocesan authorities were mulling over the choice of location to put up the School, a bright guiding star that navigated over the sky, hovered over this Site situated at Assisipuram-Nedungur, to the great éclat of all.

With the explicit and formal approval of the ecclesiastical authorities of the Diocese of Kumbakonam, the work commenced with big bang; we had a tough time to secure building License and other relevant certificates; and finally, to the great joy of all, we got the Recognition and Non-objection Certificates from the State Government of Tamil Nadu.

The actual Schooling commenced on Monday the 3rd June, 2019.

The School is quite easily traceable and accessible. It is in full public view on the Highways 40 KM from Trichy on the Northern Side; it is adjacent to Padalur, a quasi town - just 1.5 KM on the Southern Side.
